Corinne Hsu Giesemann, M.D. was born in New York City and raised in
Southern California. She graduated cum laude from Union College and
Albany Medical College (both in New York) with an interdepartmental
major in biology and Spanish. She earned her medical degree at
Albany Medical College, and completed her internship and residency
training at Harbor-UCLA Medial Center. Here Dr. Giesemann was the
recipient of the Fred Matthies award distinguishing the graduating
resident who exemplifies the "special qualities" of the traditional
family physician. She is a member of the American Academy of Family
Physicians and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family
Practice.
It was at Harbor-UCLA where Dr. Giesemann developed her interest in
women’s, children’s and adolescent health issues. She believes that
empowering patients with education and knowledge is the key to an
active partnership with them. Dr. Giesemann is passionate about
preventive health and partnering with patients to achieve a
healthier lifestyle and higher quality of life. Her ability to
converse in Spanish and understand Taiwanese helps her work closely
with a culturally diverse population.
Dr. Giesemann enjoys a variety of outdoor activities on land, sea,
and snow. She and her husband, Pat, her medical school classmate and
now a local geriatrician, enjoy travel and experiencing new foods
and cultures with their delightful young sons.
